Memphis Soul Spectacular is a stomping tribute to the southern soul sound that rocked the planet! In the 1960s the cities of Memphis, Macon and Muscle Shoals were home to the southern soul sound that made the world dance. That unique sound featured artists such as Sam & Dave, Al Green, Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, Wilson Pickett, Solomon Burke, The Staples Singers, Little Milton, and Booker T and the MGs.
Featuring the dynamic vocals of Rob “Mr. Big Stuff” Jockel, this band also boasts a relentless rhythm section, a brass-knuckle horn section from some of the region’s most seasoned bands. Memphis Soul Spectacular brings to life the laid-back romance, sweaty grooves, and front-pew power of the great southern soul era. Satisfyin’ as hot cornbread! Hotter than Beale Street in August! Rockin’ like a midnight train to Georgia! Guaranteed to turn your party or event into something uniquely fun and memorable!
What People are Saying:
“I am writing to highly recommend Memphis Soul Spectacular for your event. We hosted a golf tournament/dinner dance to raise money for cancer patients and their families. It was a true privilege and honor to have Memphis Soul at our event! They were fantastic! They were professional, dynamic, incredibly talented and a huge crowd pleaser. The guests were on their feet all evening!” – Denise Baker – The Sisters’ Project
“Memphis Soul Spectacular recently kicked off our summer concert series in West Hartford, CT – and they sure did deliver! They were great to work with, and they put on a fast-paced, entertaining outdoor show for the crowd. The laid-back atmosphere and beautiful weather set the scene for their exciting Southern Soul sound! The night was a great success, and that is largely due to the bands professionalism and ability to put forth an impressive, entertaining night of music! I would definitely recommend booking them for your next event” ~ Jessica Thibodeau – A Little Wednesday Night Music in Blue Back Square, West Hartford CT
“Great job yesterday! I thought you outdid yourself! You had the crowd really into it. They loved it. I’d love to have you back next year if you’re available” ~ Town of Norwalk, CT
